I usually start each topic with expository material.  Afterwards I draw up a set of notes, with homework, which I grade, if requested by the student.
​
Check out the "Addition Rule" tab above.  This is like a slide rule and I use it to demonstrate addition and subtraction of positive and negative integers (Grade 7).  

The Khan Academy contains a library of over 3,000 videos covering everything from arithmetic to physics, finance, and history and 315 practice exercises.  Here is a video of Salman Khan talking about this project.
